TLScontact Egypt Guide for France and Germany Visas

Embassies do not receive visa applications directly. Each one contracts a service centre. In Egypt, France and Germany use TLScontact, while most other Schengen countries (Sweden, Greece, Denmark, Norway and others) use VFS Global. The centre receives your documents, takes your biometrics, and forwards the file to the consulate, which makes the decision.

TLScontact operates its centres in Cairo, and each destination (France or Germany) has its own centre and procedures. The exact address, floor, and entry instructions arrive in your appointment confirmation email, so rely on that email rather than outdated addresses from the internet.

1. Create an account on the TLScontact website for your destination country (France or Germany).
2. For France, complete the official online application first, then link it to your TLScontact account.
3. Pick a slot from the calendar. Slots are released in batches and go quickly in peak season.
4. Print your appointment confirmation. You need it to enter on appointment day.

• Original passport + copy of every page.
• Old passport if it has any previous Schengen visas.
• Completed, signed visa application form (Veeza prepares this for France).
• 2 recent biometric photos 35x45mm.
• Flight and hotel bookings.
• Bank statements (stamped) for last 3 months.

3. Pay fees.
4. Biometrics: 10 fingerprints + biometric photo.
5. Receive a receipt with a tracking reference number.
6. Total appointment usually takes 15-30 minutes.

Track your application on the TLScontact website using the receipt reference number. Decisions typically take 15 calendar days from biometrics, and can stretch to 30-45 days in peak season (summer, Eid, December). Once decided, you collect your passport from the centre or receive it by courier if you chose that service.
