VFS Global Egypt Guide for Schengen Visas
VFS Global is the Schengen visa submission centre for most European countries in Egypt. Biometrics and documents are submitted there, not at the embassy. Appointment booking is required in advance (for Sweden visas, Veeza handles this automatically).
Which countries use VFS Global in Egypt
Most Schengen countries receive their Egypt applications through VFS Global. Veeza currently serves these VFS missions:
- Sweden (full service, we book the appointment)
- Croatia
- Denmark (Cairo and Alexandria)
- Estonia
- Finland
- Greece (Alexandria appointments currently)
- Malta
- Norway
France and Germany do not use VFS in Egypt, they use TLScontact. Read our TLScontact Egypt guide. Our appointment availability board shows the earliest slot we can see per country.
VFS Global locations in Egypt
VFS Global operates Sweden visa centres in Cairo, Alexandria, El Sheikh Zayed, and El Tagamoa El Khames. Most applicants use the Tagamoa branch (el_tagamoa), which is Veeza's default. Alexandria residents should select alexandria during application. Exact address and hours are confirmed in your appointment email.
What to bring on appointment day
- Original passport + copy of every page.
- Old passport if it has any previous Schengen visas.
- Completed visa application form (Veeza prepares this).
- 2 recent biometric photos 35x45mm.
- Flight and hotel bookings.
- Bank statements (stamped) for the last 6 months.
- Employment letter or business registration.
- Schengen travel insurance certificate.
- National ID card copy.
- Cash for fees. For Sweden, EGP 883 VFS centre fee plus ~EGP 5,000 consulate visa fee. Other missions confirm fees in the appointment email.
- Printed appointment confirmation email.
What happens at your appointment
- Check-in with appointment confirmation + passport.
- Document submission to the agent, quick review.
- Pay fees (cash).
- Biometrics: 10 fingerprints + biometric photo.
- Receive a tracking receipt with reference number.
- Total appointment usually takes 15-30 minutes.
After your appointment
Track your application on the VFS Global site using the receipt reference number. Decision typically in 15 calendar days, up to 45 in peak season. Once decided, VFS emails you to collect your passport or request it be couriered to you.
