This is how many weeks you would have waited to reach the earliest Schengen visa appointment from Egypt, per country and per month, from our own readings of the VFS Global booking portals. It measures the wait we actually observed rather than an estimate.
Based on 2201 booking-portal readings across 15 missions, 1 April 2026 to 25 September 2026.
These figures are a planning guide, not a reservation, and slots move hour to hour. A shorter queue is also not a reason to pick a country. Apply where you will spend the most nights, or the first country of entry if nights are equal (European Commission). Cairo and Alexandria are not interchangeable either. Some missions lodge in one city only.

How to read this
Wait time is the gap between the day we read the booking system and the earliest slot it was offering that day. If we read on 1 June and the soonest slot was 15 June, the wait was two weeks.
We publish weeks rather than days on purpose. Slots move hour to hour, and a precise figure from a past month would read as a promise. The number shown is the median across every day that month on which we saw appointments.
Where a mission runs more than one centre, each day takes the shortest wait among them.
Why we count only the days we checked
The readings are not daily. Every cell therefore states how many days we checked, and the percentage is calculated over those days only. A month with two checks reads as exactly that, not as a full month of evidence.
When a check fails, or the portal blocks us, we drop the reading entirely. "No data" and "no appointments" are different claims, and conflating them would have us reporting that a country was closed when it was not.
Wait times are not processing times
These numbers measure reaching the biometrics appointment only. After the appointment, the consulate takes its own time to decide, which is a separate wait entirely.

And do not pick a country because its queue is shorter. Schengen rules require you to apply to the country where you will spend the most nights, and consulates look for exactly that contradiction.

Appointment slots move hour to hour. A figure in days from a past month would read as a promise of a specific appointment when it is really a measurement of one moment. Weeks carry the same planning value without implying precision that does not exist.
How is this data collected and what do the numbers mean?
Veeza runs automated monitoring of the VFS Global booking portals for every Schengen mission in Egypt, recording the earliest appointment offered at each reading. Wait time is the gap between the reading day and that earliest slot, published in whole weeks. Only definitive readings are counted. A check that failed or was blocked is dropped entirely, and a month with no readings is reported as no data rather than as zero appointments.
Is this the same as a slot bot or appointment alert tool?
No. Slot tools watch or auto-book visa-centre calendars for you. This tracker is a measurement dataset of the earliest slots seen at VFS in Egypt, published so applicants can plan. Do I choose between Cairo and Alexandria for my appointment?
Not freely. Each mission decides which centre takes its applications, and some lodge in one city only. The city can also change over time, so treat the live availability board as the source for where the next slot is, and the destination page for where you lodge. Do not assume the two cities are interchangeable.
