Where to Apply for a Schengen Visa in Egypt (2026)
In Egypt you apply for a Schengen visa at the visa center the embassy of your main destination works with. For most countries that is VFS Global in Cairo, and many also have a center in Alexandria. France and Germany use TLScontact. You apply to the country where you will spend the most nights, or the one you enter first if the nights are equal. The visa fee is EUR 90 for adults everywhere. What changes from country to country is the visa center, its own fee, and how hard the appointment is to get. Here is where to apply for each country, what it costs, and how Veeza AI can do it for you.

Which country do you apply to?
You apply to the country where you will spend the most nights. If your nights are split evenly, you apply to the country you enter first. The visa you get covers all 29 Schengen countries, including Norway, Iceland and Switzerland, which are outside the EU.
Do not pick a country because its appointment comes sooner. An application that does not match your trip can be turned down.

What a Schengen visa costs
The visa fee is the same for every Schengen country. EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 11, and nothing for children under 6. It goes to the embassy, is paid at the visa center, and is not refunded if the visa is refused.
On top of that comes the visa center fee, which differs by country as the table shows. You pay a Veeza AI service fee only if you want us to do it for you. Budget separately for travel insurance, photos and any translations. Families and groups save 6.25% of our service fee for each extra traveler, up to 25%.
How long it takes
Once you have given your fingerprints, the embassy usually decides within 15 calendar days. In some cases that need more checks it can take up to 45 days. You can apply up to 6 months before your trip and no later than 15 days before it. The appointment is usually the longer wait, so start early, especially for summer trips.
See the earliest appointment weeks for each country on our Schengen appointments page.
Apply yourself or with Veeza AI?
Applying yourself costs only the official fees. You fill in the form, gather the documents, find and book the appointment, and go to the center. It works well if you have applied before and have the time. The hard parts are requirements that keep changing, long forms, and appointments that are hard to get on your own.
With Veeza AI you upload your passport and answer a few questions. AI fills in the official form, a visa expert reviews every file, and we book your appointment. Your passport stays with you until you hand it in at the center. No one can guarantee a visa. Only the embassy decides.

FAQ
Which Schengen country should I apply to?
The country where you will spend the most nights. If your nights are split evenly, the country you enter first. The visa then covers all 29 Schengen countries.
Can I apply in Alexandria instead of Cairo?
Many missions have a center in Alexandria as well as Cairo, as the table shows. A few only take some applicants in Alexandria, so check the mission page before you book.
How much is a Schengen visa in Egypt?
The visa fee is EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 11, plus the visa center fee, which depends on the country. A service like Veeza AI charges its own fee only if you use it.
How long does a Schengen visa take?
Usually 15 calendar days after your appointment, and up to 45 days in some cases. Getting the appointment often takes longer, so start early.
Do I have to go to the visa center in person?
In most cases yes, to give your fingerprints and hand in your passport. Children under 12 give no fingerprints, and fingerprints from the last 59 months can be reused, so check the center rules.
Can I apply to a country just because its appointment comes sooner?
No. You have to apply to your main destination. An application that does not match your trip can be turned down.
Do I need to be a resident of Egypt to apply there?
You apply in the country where you legally reside. If you reside in Egypt, you apply at the centers in this guide.
Is the visa fee refunded if I am refused?
No. The visa fee and the visa center fee are not refunded after a refusal.
